Vertical ZIP Awnings & Screens
Vertical awnings drop down in front of balconies, windows and covered outdoor areas, cutting out low sun, wind and passers-by's eyes. With the ZIP system the fabric locks into side guides, stays taut and stands up to the wind — exactly what Crete calls for.
For windows and smaller openings we fit window awnings on drop arms, and for courtyards and commercial premises we build screens on a frame, in the fabric of your choice. All of them work by hand or with a SOMFY motor.

What is the ZIP system?
It is a vertical awning where the edges of the fabric carry a zip that runs inside side guides. The fabric cannot billow in the wind and leaves no gaps at the sides.
Can I see out through a vertical awning?
With screen fabrics you can see out, while from the outside the interior is not visible during the day. Clear PVC panels are also available for a completely unobstructed view.
Can they close off a terrace for the winter?
Yes — combined with an awning or retractable pergola overhead, vertical ZIP awnings close the terrace in and protect it from wind and rain.
