Tensioned Shade Sails
Tensioned shading systems — often called Australian systems — are based on fabric stretched between fixed points (walls, columns, posts) or running on aluminium tracks and stainless-steel cables. There is no complex mechanism, so they are economical, easy to use and need almost no maintenance.
They are ideal for openings that a conventional awning cannot easily cover: large terraces, hotel courtyards, corner balconies and yards. Triangular or four-sided shade sails also give a building a striking architectural look.

Frequently asked questions
Do tensioned sails stand up to wind?
Yes, when they are designed properly. We calculate the pitch and the tension of the fabric and use stainless-steel turnbuckles and anchor points suited to exposed locations.
Are posts required?
It depends on the space. Where there are walls or an existing structure we anchor to them; otherwise we install galvanised or stainless-steel posts.
Can they be taken down in winter?
Sails unclip easily and can be stored, while sliding systems simply gather at one end of the track.
